Assistant, Product and Design
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and driven Assistant Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the global fashion landscape, staying updated on the latest trends and cultural influences. With a blend of creativity and technical proficiency, the Assistant Footwear Designer will contribute to the design process, from concept development to final product realization.
Responsibilities
1. Stay informed about global fashion trends, cultural influences, and emerging design concepts.
2. Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop innovative footwear designs that align with brand vision and market demands.
3. Assist in translating design concepts into detailed sketches and technical drawings using Illustrator, Procreate, or similar software.
4. Support the design team in researching materials, trims, and embellishments suitable for each design.
5. Participate in prototype reviews and research constructive feedback to ensure design integrity and feasibility.
6. Assist in creating and maintaining design documentation, including tech packs, spec sheets, and sample requests.
7. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including retail, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless communication and execution of design concepts.
8. Stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project timelines.
9. Continuously seek inspiration from various sources, including fashion blogs, magazines, social media, and cultural events.
10. Contribute to the overall creative atmosphere and positive team dynamic within the design studio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Footwear Design, or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience in fashion design, footwear design, or a relevant field (a plus)
- Proficiency in sketching and technical illustration
- Strong knowledge of design software such (a plus)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and work well under pressure
- Passion for fashion design and a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrated understanding of design principles, color theory, and material selection
